Vulcan ia favorite for the Champion at 7to 2 ; Wellington next. Avernus is favorite for the two year old race. Sydney, December 30. The barque Gazelle, from Solomon Islands, brings the captain and two of the crew of the Onward. Commissioners, with Mr Jennings as Executive Commissioner, have been appointed for the International Exhibition. An " Evening News " telegram states that the steamer Mecca, with 350 Chinese for the A.S.N. Company, was wrecked in Toires Straits. The cargo was lost, but tho crew were saved.
