SPECIAL TO THE QIOBK AUSTRALIAN. Wreck of the Mecca. Further Particulars. Sydney, December 31. The Mecca, with Chinese, became a total wreck on Coode inland on tho 24th. She struck a reef while at full speed, and her bottom was smashed in and she filled in throe minutes. Tho crew and passengers were landed on Thursday on ihe island. Ten tons of cargo only were saved. The Ocean otcamer that ran ashore in Torres Straits has been towed off and is bringing tho shipwrecked Chinese to Sydney.
