The schooner IKate McGregor, from Auckland, arrived this morning. The strong nor'-easter blowing this mornmg caused rather a paucity of excursionists on the several pleasure steamers. The barque Iris, hence, Reached Newcastle on December 16th. The barque John Knox left Sydney for this port on December 10th. ~..,, The steamer Tui arrived on Tuesday night at 11 o'clock from Wellington, via Kaikoura. Reports fine weather along the coast. The schooner Torea, whose voyage from here to Kaipara was interrupted by her striking a rock in the Tory Channel, Queen Charlotte Sound, on the Bth instant, is on the patent slip at Wellington for repairs. The damage is slight, but two planks being stove in and the fore foot knocked off. She is expected to arrive in time to enter the regatta. Captain Clark, of the U.S.S. Co.'s Ringarooina, took the steamer to Port Chalmers, whence he is to come on to Lyttelton to take his position as master of the Harbor Board's new tug-boat. Captain Chatfield, of the Claud Hamilton, will succeed Captain Clark. Captain Newman will take the Ringarooma to Melbourne, where, it is said, he will be transferred to the Claud Hamilton. The smart brigantine Gleaner arrived on Tuesday morning from Greymouth, having left there on the 18th instant.
