Southern Cross sails this evening for Auckland via East Coast. The s.s. Taupo, from the North, arrived at eight O'clock this morning with the San Francisco mails. She sailed again for Akaroa and Port Chalmers at one o'clock this afternoon. The Union S S. Co.'s Wanaka, from Port Chalmers and Akaroa, arrived at noon to day, and will leave for Auckland via Wellington and East Coast ports to-night. The Titan, steamer, is announced for an excursion trip to Pigeon Bay on the 26th instant. The ship Western Monarch, erroneonsly announced some time ago as on her way to this port, left Plymouth on the 13th October with 370 immigrants for Otago. The Northern Monarch, for Canterbury with immigrants, sailed on the 18th of the same month. The brig Wave was yesterday berthed at the Tunnel Wharf. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Wellington, December 20. The ship Jessie Eeadman, which loft last evening, got into difficulties in beating out of the Hea'is and had. to anchor. While in no danger now, sho would bo in a dangerous position if a southerly g,ale were to spring up. An attempt is to be made next week to get the Hydrabad oif Horowhenua Beach, all her cargo except about 300 tons having been lande.d.
