The quarrel between two Native tribes at Wangarei is unsettled, one tribe burned down the bouses of the other, and conflict was only prevented by Government officers promising compensation to the aggrieved party. Sir G. Grey and Mr Sheehan re visit the district in January to settle the dispute.
