CHRISTCHDRCEf. Saturday, December 7. [Before CK L. Mellisti, R.M.] Labceuy. —Walter Worley was charged with the larceny of a watch of the value of £!), from a dwelling. Solomon David Nathan, pawnbroker, of Colombo street, said that on Friday the accused came into his shop and offered a watch to pawn. Witness observed the number and the maker’s name. The accused at first said that lie had bought the watch in Dunedin for and when witness gOjW. lor a police constaule he said he had bought it of a man whom he did not know for £‘L Witness then handed the watch to the police, and the prisoner was taken into custody. The prisoner was remanded to Oamaru until December 7th, where the watch was alleged to hayo been stolen.
