The body of a recently born infant was found yesterday in a utensil in the bedroom of a servant girl at the Railway Hotel, Hastings. The alleged mother is one of the City of Auckland immigrants lately arrived here. The circumstances are of so suspicious a nature, that an inquest will be held to day. Wellington, November 30. Mr McFdwain, who owned the house which was burned under very suspicious circumstances, was arrested and brought up this morning at the Ret-ident Magistrate’s Court, and remanded till Tuesday. Heavy bail was allowed.
