POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28. For Northern ports, per Albion, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. I'or Northern ports, per Taiaroa, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m,; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. Eor Northern ports, per Southern Cross, at 3.10 p.m., late fee letters, 3.35 p.m, late letter box, guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 29. For Otago, per Easby, at 11.30 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.50 a.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. The next mail outwards, via San Francisco, closes at Christchurch on Friuay, December 6th. This mail is due in Loudon on January 21st, 1879. The next outward English mails, via Suez and Brindisi, will close at Christchurch on Tuesday, December 17th. The mail via Southampton will be duo in London on February 17th, and via Brindisi on February 10th, 1379. An extra mail for Lyttelton now closes at this office daily at 2 p.m. SYDNEY J.
