POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28. For Northern ports, per Albion, at 1.50 p.m.; late fee letters, 2.10 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Southern Cross, at 3.10 p.m., late fee letters, 3.35 p.m. late letter box, guard’s van, 4 p.m, train. The next mail outwards, via San Francisco, closes at Christchurch on Friday, December 6th. This mail is due in London on January 21st, 1879. Tho next outward English mails, via Suez and Brindisi, will close at Christchurch on Tuesday, December 17th. The mail via Southampton will be due in London on February 17th, and via Brindisi on February 10th, 1879. On and after to-day an extra mail for Lyttelton will close at this office daily at 2 p.m. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
