Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations TUESDAY, NOVEMBEE 20. For Akaroa and Otago, per Wanaka, at 11.30 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.50 a.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, 12.10 p.ra. train, For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 6 p.m.; late letter box, guard’s van, must not he used for this mail. WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBEE 27. For Northern ports, per Southern Cross, at 3.15 p.nn, late fee letters, 3,35 p.m, late letter box, guard's van, 4 p.m, train. For Northern ports, per Albion, The next mail outwards, via San Francisco, closes at Christchurch on Friday, December 6th. This mail is duo in London on January 21st, 1879. The next outward English mails, via Suez and Brindisi, will close at Christchurch on December 17th. The mail via Southampton will bo duo in London on February 17th, and via Brindisi on February 10th, 1879. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
