CABLE_NEWS. SPECIAL TO THE GLOBE. London, November 19. Great rejoicings in Italy at the escape of the King have taken place. Congratulatory telegrams from most of the European potentates have been received. The rejoicing has attracted notice to the many internationalists in Italy. Their secret movements were unsuspected by the Government, and they have operated successfully in Florence, where they attacked a procession. A bomb was thrown and a fearful explosion ensued, killing and wounding many. [special to pbess agency.] ' London, November 19. The Brindisi mails have been delivered. Disastrous floods have taken place in the eastern counties. Fearful gales have been experienced in the North Sea. NEW ZEALAND TELEGRAMS. SPECIAL TO THE GLOBE. Wellington, November 20. The Hon. J. Sheehan received a telegram asking him to meet Kewi and proceed with him from Waitara through to the King country. Mr bheehan will be accompanied by Dr. Hector. Sir G. Grey proceeds to Auckland to-day per Hinemoa. Dunedin, November 20. Captain Clark, of the Ringarooma, received a testimonial, consisting of a purse of sovereigns, from his passengers to-day. The Ringarooma brought over a number of J asmanian prize sheep for our show. The " Herald" strongly dissents from the Taupo judgments. It says a wide spread feeling against the constitution of the Court exists, and calls on the Governor to mitigate the severity of the sentence. [per pkess agency.] Wellington, November 20. Under instructions from the Hon. the Colonial Secretary an information for misdemeanor will be laid against George Wood, who kept his lunatic sister under restraint for twenty-one years. The information will be laid under the 40th section of the Lunitic Act, 1868. The Agent-General telegraphs under date 13th November that the ship Taranaki|had sailed with 293 immigrants for Port C halmers. Wellington, November 20. The divorce case of Digby v Digby and Alexander has been postponed till Monday in order to ascertain from Christchurch whether the respondent had been served with the proper notice. The nautical assessors, Captains Halliday and Hewitt, disagreed in their decision regarding the wreck of the City of Auckland, and Mr Mansford, R.M., is to give an independent judgment to-morrow. In the Divorce Court, in re Jeffrey v Jeffrey and others (a Christchurch case), application for a decree nisi, the decree was granted on the usual terms.
