POST OFFICE NOTICES
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : MONDAY, NOVEMBER 18. For Nelson, Westport, and Groymouth, per Maori, at 11.30 a.m. ; late fee letters, 11.50 a.m.; guard’s van, railway station, 12.10 p.in. train. For Northern ports, per Taranaki, at 3.15 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.35 p.m. ; guard’s van, railway station, 4 p.m. train. F r Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth, per Star of the South, at 315 p,m. ; late fee letters, 3.35 p.m.: guard’s van, railway station, 4 p.m. train. TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19. For United Kingdom, for letters specially marked via Snez or Brindisi, and for the Australian colonies, India, China, and the East, Aden, Mauritius, Cape of Good Hope, &c., &c., will close at 1 p.m.; late fee letters, 121 p.m. For money orders and registered letters, at noon. Newspapers and books, at 12.30 p.m. Late fee letters may be posted in guard’s van, railway station until 2.21 p.m. The mail via Southampton will be due in London on January 20th, and via Brindisi on January 13th, 1879. The next mail outwards, via San Francisco, closes at Christchurch on Friday, December oth. This mail is due in London on January 21st, 1879. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
