Mr Sheehan is to leave for tha South to-day, but will return in a few days, when he will proceed to Wanganui and other places on the Coast. It is understood that the Premier will leave for Auckland about Wednesday. The Governor has acquainted Mademoiselle Charbonnet that he will arrange to remain in Christchurch so as to be present at her opening concert on the 15th, and has authorised her to announce it as under his speciil patronage. The Taupo goes on the slip for the purpose of ascertaining whether she received any injury from the alleged striking on a reef off Gisborne, Poverty Bay.
