Mails close at the Chief Po3t Office for the following plaoes as under, sabjeot to the necessary alterations «— ■ TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5. For Akaroa and Otago, per Taupo, at 11.30 a.m.; late letters, 11.50 a.m.; railway station, 12.10jp.rn. For Otago, per Maori, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 210 p.m.; railway station, 2.10 p.m. train. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 3.15 p.m.; late letters, 3.35 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. train. The next English mail via San Francisco will close at Christcuurch on Friday, November Bth, at 2.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.30 p.m.; guard's van, railway station, 4 p.m. train. Registered letters and money orders, at 2 p.m. Newspapers and books, until 2 p.m. This mail is due at London on December 24th, SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
