Friday, October 25. ELECTORAL BILL.
In committee, ou the Electoral Bill, Mr Stout moved that the House disagree with the * ouncil’s amendments which limited the Maori franchise to the ratepayers’ qualification only, except for special representation. _ The amendment was disagreed with on a division, by 36 to 26, and a committee was appointed to draw up reasons. NATIVE LAWSUITS BILL. On the motion to go into committee on the Native Lawsuits Bill, Major Atkinson moved the adjournment. Mr Morris and Sir E. Douglas supported the motion, but the House went into committee on a division by 37 to 26. Mr Stout moved the insertion of the following names in the Bill, as Judges Messrs Mansford, Cook, and Higinbotham. Mr Eussell moved that the Chairman report progress. Agreed to on the voices.
ME BROOMHALL’S AGREEMENT,
The Premier announced the receipt of a telegram from air J. Vogel that Mr Broomhall would renounce all claims on the land ou leceipt of .£3500. The House adjourned at 3.15.
