At a meeting of the Cricket Association, held last night, it was decided to invite the Gentlemen Players who are expected in Australia, to visit Dunedin, while it was agreed that the Canterbury Association should be requested to fix the date of the Interprovincial match. Oamabu, October 25.

Mr Osborne having refunded the amount of the stakes won by Silverstream on the Maiden Steeplechase, the dispute between him and the Steeplechase Club has been settled. The complaint against Hawkins, for offering to hush matter up if given half the stakes, will be investigated at a future meeting. Invercargill, October 25.

At the Resident Magistrate's Court to-day judgment was given in the case Bands, of Dunedin, v Osborne, a claim for the proceeds of sale of property. It was decided that there was a good equitable assignment of the proceeds of the sale to Mr Eldridge for salary as clerk to plaintit, and that defendant, an auctioneer, being directed to so apply the proceeds plaintiff could not recover.
