POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office (or the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16. For Wellington and Nelson, per Arawata, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17. For Otago and the Australian Colonies, per Alhambra, at 11.30 a.m.; late letters, 11.50 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For the Northern ports, per Ladybird, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. For Otago, per Wakatipu. For Kaikonra and Wellington, per Tui, at 3.15 p.m.; late letters, 3.35 p.m. railway station, 4 p.m, train. For Chatham Islands, on or about 23rd Oct. The next English mail, via Southampton and Brindisi, will close at Christchurch on or about Tuesday, October 22nd. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
