At a meeting of the University Council on Saturday, Mr Bathgate delivered a long speech in favor of the disassociation of the Otago University 'from the University of New Zealand. In reference to the publication by the Professorial Board of their resolutions re proposed new chair, the Council resolved to intimate to the Board that it did not expect the Board to publish beforehand resolutions addressed to the Council.
