POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subjeot to the necessary alterations : WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2. For Otago, overland, at 7.00 a.m. THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3. For Northern Ports, per Taranaki, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. For Wellington, per Albion. The next English mail, via San Francisco, will close at the Chief Post-office, Christchnrch on Friday, October 11th. This mail is due in London on November 26th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
