LYTTELTON HARBOR BOARD.

Friday, September 27. A special meeting of the Lyttelton Harbor Board was held at two o’clock in the afternoon, for the the purpose of considering the tenders sent in for Wharf No, 3 and the breastwork; also, to consider a communication from the National Bank of New Zealand re the Lyttelton Harbor Board debentures. There were present —Messrs R. J. S. Harman (Acting-Chairman) P. Cunningham, Allwright, 0. W. Turner, E, Q-, Wright, and H, Sawtell. TENDERS. The following tenders were received for Wharf No. 3 and the breastwork :—Hawkins and Co., £10,879 lls lOd ; W. Langdown, £11,288 ; and Thomas H. Parsons, £11,676 5s 2d. Each tender enclosed a deposit of £VUO. Mr Bell, the engineer, said his estimate of the work had been £11,370. 1 ' The tender of Messrs Hawkins and Co. was accepted, and the seal was ordered to bo aflixed to the contract. DEBENTURES. The Board went into committee to consider a letter received from the National Bank of New Zealand. On resuming, the following resolution was reported to the Board : —“ That Messrs R. J. S. Harman, C. W. Turner, and P. Cunningham, be appointed a commit tee to report on the question raised by the National Bank of New Zealand (Limited), in their letter of September 10th, in the matter of the Lyttelton Harbor Board debentures, the committee to bring up their report at the next mooting of the Board, on October 4th.” The resolution was adopted, on the motion of Mr Wright, seconded by Mr Sawtell. ’ 1
