Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to tho necessary alterations SATUEDAY, SEPTEMBEE 28. For Otago, per taranaki, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.10 p.m. train. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 1 p.m. train. MONDAY, SEPTEMBEE 30. For Northern ports, per Taupo. The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on Friday, October 11th. This mail is due in London on November 26th, SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
