POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 27. For Otago and Australian Colonies, per Claud Hamilton, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern ports, Sydney, and Brisbane, per Wakatipu, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 28. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on Friday, October 11th. This mail is due in London on November 26th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
