MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, September 24. [Before G. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.] Drunk and Disoederlv, Catherine Wilson was fined 10s, and a first offender ss.
Lunacy. —John Cameron was brought up as a lunatic. From the evidence ot the constable who arrested him, and the proprietor of the Boarding House where he had been staying since Saturday, it appeared that drink was the cause of hia condition. He was remanded to Lyttelton for eight days.
LYTTELTON. Tuesday, September 23.
[Before H. R. Webb and H. Allwright. Esqs,, J.P.’s,} Refusal op Duty. William Young, cook and steward of the barque Mary Miller, was charged by the master with the above, and sent to gaol for seven days. Absent Without Leave.—John Pierce, a seaman belonging to the brig Derwent, was charged with being absent from his ship, and upon the application of the master, was sent on board.
