POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25. For Northern ports per Ladybird, at 1.50 p.m,; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train, THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 26. For Northern ports, per Wakatipu, at 6 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. train. For Wellington and Kaikoura, per Tni, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m, train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on Friday, October 11th. This mail is duo in London on November 26th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
