POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to tho necessary alterations i - * TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, For Akaroa and Otago, per Taupo, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 pm. train. . Mails per Eingarooma will close as under, viz.: — For United Kingdom, via Suez. Brindisi, and Southampton (specially addressed letters only), India, China, and the East, Aden, Mauritius, Cape of Good Hope, Mediterranean ports, &c., &c., at 2.30 p.m.; late letters, 3 p.m. For Otago and Australian Colonies, at 2.30 p.m.; late letters, 3 p.m. For Money orders and registered letters, at 1.00 p.m. For newspapers and ! ook packets, at 2 p.m. Late fee letters for the above mails may be foated in guard’s van of the Lyttelton train up to p.m. The mails will he due in London via Southampton on November 25th, via Brindisi on November 18th, * The next mail for tho United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close at Christchurch on Friday, October 11th. This mail is due in London on November 26th. WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 25. For Northern ports per Ladybird. A daily mail for Otago is closed at 7.30 a.m. SYDNEY J, DICK. Chief Postmaster.
