MAGISTRATES’ COURTS.
CHRISTCHURCH. Satueday, September 21st. [Before Q-. L. Mellish, Esq., R.M.] Deunk and Dxsoedeely.—A first offender, was fined ss. Cutting- and Wounding. Alexander Maurice was brought up on warrant charged with wounding and causing grievous bodily harm to Q-eorge Hingart on the 14lh of September. On the application of Serjeant Maurice, who stated the prisoner was only arrested last night, and the necessary witnesses had not been subpmnued, the case was remanded until Monday next. LYTTELTON. ‘ Satueday, Sbptembee 21. [Before W. Donald, Esq., R.M.] Lunacy eeom Deink.— William Taylor, brought up on remand from Christchurch, was discharged, Mr Phillips, the chief gaoler, stating that he had recovered. Deunkenness.—John Miller, arrested by Constable Coles for this offence, was lined ss, or forty-eight hours’ imprisonment.
