the Municipal Corporations Act so as to admit of the amalgamation being effected. The Caversham Council last night decided that it was advisable that tramways should be extended from Dunedin to Caversham.

The students of Otago University have passed a resolution disapproving of Judge Bathgate’s proposal to dissociate the Otago University from that of New Zealand.
