POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18. For Nelson, "Westport and Greymouth, per Maori, at 11 a.m. j late letters, 11,20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For "Wellington, Napier, and Nelson, per Claud Hamilton, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19. For Northern Ports, per Taranaki, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. A daily mail is closed for Otago at 7.30 a.m. The next mail for the United Kingdom for correspondence specially marked via Suez or via Brindisi will leave Lyttelton per s.s.
