POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations ; MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 16. For Kaikora, per Tni, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m. ; railway 8 ation, 4 p.m. train. For Northern ports, per Hawea, at 6 p.m. For Otago and Australian colonies, per Alhambra. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17. For Otago, per Wanaka. The next mail for the United Kingdom for correspondence specially marked via Suez or via Brindisi will leave Lyttelton per s.s. Eingorooma on Tueaday, the 24th September. The mails are due in London via Suez on November 25th, via Brindisi on November 18th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
