POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the necessary alterations : FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 13. For Northern Ports,Westport, Greymouth, Hokitika, and Australian Colonies, per Tarnrna, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, Sydney, and Brisbane, per Rotorua, at 4 p.m.; late letters, 4.20 p.m.; railway station, 5.30 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom via San Francisco, will close at this office on Friday, September 13th, at 4 p.m. Late fee letters till 4.20 p.m. Newspapers and 1 ook packets at 3 p.m. Registered letters and money orders at 3 p.m. Late fee letters may be posted in the letter box of the guard’s van until the departure of the 5.30 p.m. train for Lyttelton, The ‘-'an Francisco mail is due in London on 29th October. SATURDAY, SEPTEMFEE 14. For Otago, per Taranaki, at 11 a m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom for correspondence specially marked via Suez or via Brindisi will leave Lyttelton per s.s. Eingarooma on Tuesday, the 24th September. The mails are duo in London via Snez on November 25th, via Brindisi on November 18th, SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
