GENTLEMEN,— In reply to an advertisement in last evening’s “Star” and “Globe,” signed Charles E. Briggs, in which, referring to a number of “squib” posters being printed relating to Mr Wm. Wilson, he states : “ I refused to allow the poster in question to be printed in the oilice with which I am connected.” We have merely in reply to state that we are in possession of information from the office where the posters where printed of the work having been positively done under instructions from Mr Briggs, who can receive the names of the parties, and all particulars relating thereto (but which be is already aware of) by calling at M r Wilson’s office. If this will not satisfy him, we are prepared to give publicity to the whole transaction. We would desire to point out to the ratepayers that Air Briggs does not deny his connection with the “squib” in question, but merely tries by a side wind to throw the public off their guard by saying that he refused to allow the posters to be printed at his office, knowing full well that had they been printed there, suspicion would at once point to him, which might possibly have been averted by the underhand course he preferred to take.
