Mails Close at tho Chief Post Office for tho following places as under, subject to tho necessary alterations WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 4. For Otago, overland, at 11 a.m. For Northern ports, per Wauaka, at 1.50 p.m. j late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m, train. THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 5. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. For Northern ports, per Taranaki. Tho next English mail, via San Francisco, will close on or about Friday, September 13th inst. SYDNEY J, DICK, Chief Postmaster.
