The Island Lily, btfrmd from the Chatham Islands to Levuka, put into Auckland on the 12th of August, having lost U'O sheen owing to had weather. The Taiaroa, s.s., Captain Pietcrsea, arrived in harbor from Dunedin at 145 nm. to-day. She sails to-morrow, at noon, for Northern ports. The s.s. Tui left for Kaikonra aud Wellington last night at G o'clock, but, after getting some ten miles East the Heads, was obliged to return owing to a en vy N. W. gale. She arrived at the wharf at 11.30 p,m. She sails again at 6 p.m. to-day. Messrs Cunningham and Co. expect the barque Letterfonrie from Hobart Town. The Aikshaw, barque, has boon chartered by Messrs P Cunningham and Co. to load for the United Kingdom. She will take in 300 tous of grain hero, and fi 1 np at Oamarn. The Linda Weber, schooner. Captain M‘Benzie, arrived in harbor from Auckland yesterday morning. She left Auckland on Friday last with westerly winds, passed East Cape on Thursday, and Cape Tarnagain on Sunday. From the latter port hud light variable winds to arrival as above. The schooner Jane Hannah, Captain Mason, nrrived in harbor yesterday morning from Gatlin’s River. She left on Saturday last, and hndS.W. winds as far as Ocean Beach, after which N.B till Tuesday, and then northerly to N.W. weather to arrival as above. The Sarah and Mary, brigantine, left the Bluff on August 2lth, with 05,000 feet timber for this port. The Seagull, brigantine, arrived in harbor last night from tlio Bluff. She left that port on the morning of the 25th. The schooner Hannah Barratt, Captain Renner, arrived in harbor from Pictou at 4.30 p.m. yesterday. She left Pictou on the 23rd, and cleared Tory Channel at 7p m. At midnight a strong S.W. gale sprang up, and she was compelled to run to Welli' gton for shelter. Left that port at noon on the 27th. with a N.VV. gale, which failed at 8 p.m. Since then had variable and baffling winds to arrival, as above. She brings a cargo of timber for Langdown and Co. The Aberdeen clipper ship Miltiades, which arrived at, Melbourne on August 14th, reports speaking the ship Palala on Ibe Equator on Juue 30th in 21 W. The Palnla is bound here. The Miltiades did the passage from London to Melbourne in 74 days. In 30 south and 19 E. she experienced a terrific gale from which she suffered considerably. The Adelphol hence arrived at Newcastle on August 17th, SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, August 29. Arrived—Albatross, from Ljttelton. Sailed— Tanpo, for tho South via East Coast. Port Chalmees, August 29' Arrived —Sonthminsfer.lOG days from Now York, with cargo for Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. Sailed—Taiaroa, at 5 p.m., for Lyttelton. Txmarc, August 23. Sailed—Star of the South, for Lyttelton, at 7 p.m.
