SCHOOL OF COOKERY. ST. MICHAEL'S SCHOOLROOM. Conducted on the system now in vogue in all the Principal Towns of Great Britain. MISS FIDLER (from the Edinburgh School of Cookery), begs to intimate to the Ladies of Christchurch that she will give a course of practical LESSONS in COOKERY. The course of instruction will consist of twelve lessons, accompanied witb illustrations of practical cooking. A Urge gas stove has been fitted up, and pupils will be enabled to see the various processes of cooking from first to last. The classes are so arranged as to meet the requirements of people in different positions in life. The afternoons of Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays will be devoted to superior as well as plain cooking. The Evening Classes are formed to suit the convenience or those who cannot attend in the afternoon. Young ladies attending school during the week are invited to attend the Saturday lessons. The lessons will be of two hours' (or more) duration each day, between the hours of two and four in the afternoon, and seven and nine in the evening. During the progress of the lesson the teacher will minutely describe the ingredients, quantities, mixing, time of cooking—in fact every detail incidental to the lesson. Pupils are requested to provide themselves with a small note-book and pencil, that they may make their own notes, and thereby retain what they could not trust to their own memory. The articles made at each lesson will be laid on the counter, with the price attached, and pupils will be at liberty to purchase them. The lessons will include the cooking of soups, poultry, entrees, fish, stews, &c, cakes, pastry, puddings, pies, jellies, &c. Special care will be taken to show the pupils that not an atom of material used in the kitchen need be wasted or thrown away. One lesson in each course will be devoted to sick room cookery. The Instructress will bo in attendance at the school on Monday, August 26th, from one to four o'clock, when persons wishiDg to join the classes are requested to enroll themselves. LESSONS.
