The Customs duties collected here on Thursday, July 25th, amounted to 4810 7s 4d. The items wero: Wines, £l9 18s; spirits, £169 17s 10d ; tobacco, £5115s ; snuif, £56; tea, £2114s 6d; sugar, £2l 6s Id; goods by weight, £1 Is 8d; ad valorem, £157 11s; other duties, £5. At the sittings of the Waste Lands Board on Thursday, July 25th, 11,812 acres were disposed of, realising £23,681. The land is situated as under: — Ashley, 2517 acres ; Selwyn, 76 acres ; Akaroa, 139 acres; Ashburton, 951 acres; Geraldine, 205-1 acres; Waimate, 5772 acres. At an adjourned sitting of the above Board held on Friday, July 26th, 1996 acres 2 roods were disposed of, realising £3993. The land is situated as under Selwyn, 1135 acres 3 roods ; Akaroa, 35 acres; Ashburton, 162 acres 1 rood; Geraldine, 61 acres 2 roods; Waimate, 302 acres. Mr H. E. Alport reports the following important sale by auction on Thursday last, at the premises, Lincoln road, in the matter of P. S. Pryde Twelve shares in the Canterbury Sale Yards Company (Limited), paid up £5, sold for £8 7s 6d per share; buggy, £32 10s; horse, £l2 10s; filly foal, £7 5s j two do, £5 each; cow, £6. A quantity of furniture brought full rates. The equity of redemption of the house and land, known as Bankin’s store, was not sold. COMMEECIAL TELEGBAMS. Auckland, July 26. Mr A. Mr Buckland reports Fat cattle, 2s 6d per 1001 b higher; medium, 30s to 335; superior, 37s 6d; fat sheep, 2jd to 3id per lb. Dunedin, July 26. Mr Bradshaw reports on tho share market: — Bank of Now Zealand, £23 13s; Colonial Bank, £2 16s, cum. div.; National Bank, £4 ; National Insurance, £1 7s; South British, £3 10s; New Zealand Insurance, £4 12s; Standard Insurance, £1 2s 6d; Mosgiel Factory, £3 10s , Scottish and New Zealand Investment Co., 18s; National Mortgage and Agency Co. (buyers), £1 ss.
