Mails olose at the Chief Post Offloa (or the following places as under, aubjeot to the neoesaarr alterations : BATUEDAY, JULY 27. For Otago, per Wakatipn, at 1.50 p.m. ; late letters 2.10 p.m. ; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. train. Mails per Arawata will close as under— For United Kingdom, via Southampton and Brindisi, at 3 p.m.; lato letters, 3.20 p.m. For the Continent of Europe, China, India, and the East, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m. For Otago and Australian colonies, at 3 p.m. ; late letters, 3.20 p.m. For money orders, registered letters, books packets and newspapers, at 2 p.m. Letters for the United Kingdom for despatch by the above mail must be specially addressed for the route they are intended to be despatched by. The mail via Southampton will be due in London September 30th, and via Brindisi September 23rd. Late letters may be posted in the guard's van attached to the 4 p.m. train, for Lyttelton provided such letters bear in addition to the full postage a further single rate of postage as a late fee.
