The Australian cricketers have played against eleven of Cambridge University a Lord's. The first innings of the University closed for 285. The highest score was made by A. Lyttelton, with 72. The first innings of the Australians closed for 111. The following scores were made : —C. Bannerman, 12; Murdoch, 47; Horan, Spofforth, and Blackham, all 0; Gregory, 5; Garrett, 13; Bailey, 5 ; Allan, 12 ; Boyle, 9 ; A. Bannerman, 1; sundries, 7. The bowling of Cambridge was very effective. Morton alone took seven wickets. The bowling of the Australians was considerably knocked about. The attendance was enormous. The wickets were splendid and the weather hot. SPECIAL TO THE GLOBM [FEOM OUE OWN COBBESPONDENT.] The Australians followed their first inningSj and were put out quickly, making only 101.
