The items were:—Wines, £43 16s lOd; spirits, £2BO 8s 9d ; tobacco, £ll9 2s 6d ; cigars, £l4 15s ; tea, £79 6s 6d; sugar, £l6 17s sd; goods by weight, £7lss 4d; ad valorem, £77 10s; other duties, £53 15s. | At the sittings of the Waste Lands Board held on Monday, July 22nd, 7471 acres and 20 perches were disposed of, realising £14,942 ss. The land is situated as under:—Ashley, 905 acres 1 rood 20 perches; Selwyn, 910 acres ; Akaroa, 669 acres; Ashburton, 1464 acres ; Geraldine, 3122 acres 3 roods; Waimate, 400 acres. An adjourned sitting of the Board took place on Tuesday, July 23rd, when 219 acres 3 roods were disposed of, realising £439 10s.
