Peel), 1845; Sikh war (Sir R, Peel), 1845 ; Kaffir war (Lord John Russell), 1850; Burmese war (Lord John Russell), 1851 ; Cri mean war (*Lord Aberdeen), 1854 ; Persian war (Lord Palmerston), 1857 : Indian Mutiny (Lord Palmerston), 1857; Chinese war (*Lord Palmerston), 1859; Rebellion, New Zealand (*Lord Palmerston), 1860 ; Ashantee war (*Lord Palmerston), 1863 ; Abyssinian war (Lord Derby), 1867; Ashantee war (Mr Gladstone), 1873. Sir Robert Peel’s Government found war raging in India. Mr Gladstone was a member of all the Cabinets marked thus *.
