NORTH OTAGO COURSING CLUB. [By Telegraph.] [from the correspondent of the press.] Oamahu, July 8. The town is crowded. There is considerable excitement. Several dogs are backed at from 100 to Bto 100 to 12. Jerome's Gill Gill, lately imported from Sydney, and who ran into the last four of the Yictorian Waterloo Cup of 1877, is much fancied. The draw took place at Richardson's. Hamlet in the first round gets a bye, and the same owner's Frolic will, if she wins in the first round, get a ditto. In the first ties the Christchurch dogs Belle, Crack Shot, Gill Gill, Leo, and John haye been drawn favourably in a Calcutta sweep, value £SB 10s. Gill Gill realised £ll, Smoker £6 ss, Hamlet £6, Frolic £5 10s, Tasman £5, Crack Shot £4 ss, others £3 10s and £l. An early start will be made in order if possible to get the cup run through in one day.
