CORPORAL PUNISHMENT IN SCHOOLS.

To the Editor of the Globe. Sib, —A correspondent, who wishes to be facetious and who c;Jls himself "Betsy Jane," says that " a report was current some time ago that the Rev. Mr Watson struck a little girl for eating lollies in the Sunday School." Well, I don't mind telling you, for " Betsy Jane's" information if he requires it, that neither was such a report ever current nor was any child ever struck for eating lollies in the Sunday School, or for doing anything else of a like childish nature, nor is corporal punishment known in St. John's Sunday School. Yours, &c, DOUG-LAS A. COOKE.
