request, and stating that ho will visit the district of Hokitika. Mr Gerald George Fitz Gerald has announced himself as a candidate for the Assembly for the seat vacated by Mr Button. The " Gazette " issued this morning notifies that Parliament is further prorogued from the 15th of June to the Ist of July next. Gbettown, June 10. On Saturday, the Wairarapa Jockey Club discussed the question of admitting the Press to its meeting, and decided to exclude it. The " Standard" had claimed the right to send a reporter. Dunedin, June 10. Mr 0. S. Reeves intimates that he intends offerigg himself as a candidate for the Dunedin vacancy, but does not say in what interest.
