The s.s. Wanaka Bails lor Auckland via East Coast this afternoon. The schooner Spray, from Picton, and the Garibaldi, from Hokitika, arrived this morning. The vessel signalled yesterday proved, as we expected, to be the barque Eose M, from Newcastle. The barque Malacca was towed out into the stream by the p.s. Titan, and sailed for London on Saturday afternoon. The Ebenezer at the Tunnel Wharf to load, and the Emerald and Helena at Peacock's, and Torea at No. 3 Wharf were berthed on Saturday to disThe schooner Sis3y finished her loading at Kaipara for this port on May 25th, and was to sail without delay. The schooner Spray was sighted outside the Heads yesterday, but owing to the sou'-wester did not arrive iuside last night. The Marion made the passage from here to Auckland n five days. Thursday's "New Zcalander" says:—A painful accident befell Henry Price, second cook of the s.s. Easby, yesterday. The unfortunate fellow was proceeding to desceud the after-hatchway by means of a ladder, when the ladder, which was not secured, fell into the hold and ho ou top of it. When picked up he was apparently suffering very much, and Dr. Diver, for whom a messenger had been sent, shortly afterwards examined him, but did not detect any bones broken. Better provision is required on hoard theVEasby for communication with the steerage, as at present the passengers (including the women) in that part of the vessel can only get up and down by means of an almost perpendicular ladder, unsecured and without handrails. safety~of~the~ketch~margaret. The Spray, tchooner, arrived this morning with the missing ketch Margaret in tow. This vessel, which left Pigeon Buy for Aninri Bluff nearly seven weeks ago, under the command of the wellknown " Charle Miller," was thought to bo lost, and her arrival caused considerable excitement. During her long detention her captain and crew have had very hard times, living on two potatoes and an egg cup full of water per diem for several days. She was seen by the Spray on Sunday, at Boon, and got provisions from and was towed in by that vessel at 11 to-day. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. Auckland, June 1.
