POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the neoessary alterations : SATURDAY, JUNE 1. Mails per Arawata will close as under i For United Kingdom via Southampton and Brindisi, at 3 p.m.; late letters 3.20 p.m. For the Australian Colonies, Continent ofEurop", India, China, and the East, Otago, &c, &c.,at3 p.m.; 'ite letters, 3.20 p.m.: For the issne of money orders at 1 p.m. For registered letters, books, and newspapers, at 2 p.m. Late letters can be posted in the guard's van attached to the Lyttelton train, leaving Christchurch, at 4 p.m., provided such letters bearinaddi. tion to the full postage a further single rate as a late fee. The mail via Southampton will be due in London Aug. sth, and via Brindisi, July 29th. For Otago, per Taiaroa, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. MONDAY, JUNE 3.
