POST OFFICE NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to the neoossary alterations: — FRIDAY, MAY 31. For Otago, per Easby, at 7 a.m For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 3 p.m.; late letters, 3.20 p.m. ; railway station, 4 p.m. train. SATURDAY, JUNE 1. Mails per Arawata will close as under : For United Kingdom via Southampton and Brindisi, at 1 p.m.; late letters 1.20 p.m. For the Australian Colonies, Continent of Europo, India, China, and the East, Otago, &c, &c, at 1 p.m.; 'ate letters, 1.20 p.m. Money orders at 11 a.m. For registered letters, books, aud newspapers, at noon. Late letters can be posted in the guard's van attached to the 2.4.0p.m. Lyttelton train, provided such letters bear in addition to the full postage a further single rate as a late fee. The mail via Southampton will bo due in Loudon Aug. sth, and via Brindisi, July 29th. For Oiago, per Taiaroa, at 1.50 p.m.; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.10 p.m. train. SYDNEY J.
