A fire at Blue Spur yesterday destroyed a five-roomed dwelling-house belonging to Mr Roche, shareholder in the Otago Company’s claim. It is not known how it originated, but it is supposed to have commenced in the kitchen. Roche was absent at the time the fire was discovered, but, going home, made an effort to save some furniture and clothing. He only succeeded in saving a few articles belonging to bis wife. The building and furniture wer.e insured for £l5O, which does not cover the lo*s by fully £2OO.
