[By Telbgbaph.] Oamabtt, May 21. The opening meeting of the North Otago Coursing Club took place to-day at Awamoa, the estate of the Hon. M. Holmes. The meeting was a great success. About 300 spectators were on the ground. The following are the results of the first run:— Mr J. Stephenson's blk s Fly beat Mr T. Brydone's br w s Frolic. Mr M. Holmes' blk d G-uy beat Mr E. Campbell's f d Trooper. • Mr W. Swanson's bk d Handel beat Mr G. Greenfield's Polly. Mr G. McGavin'sbr s Tricolor beat Mr W. Bonayne's Lais. Mr T. D. Eett's bl s Queen Death beat Mr C. J. Jannison'e W.F.S.; a bye. EIBST TIES. Fly beat Guy. Spring beat Le Rouge. Hamlet beat Handel. Queen Death ran a bye. SECOND TIES. Spring beat Fly. Queen Death beat namlet. THIBD TIES. Mr J. J. D. Kett's bl s Queen Death beat Mr A. C. Paterson's w d Spring, and won the stakes. The winners of the prizes, we believe, were —lst prize, £35; Queen Death, 2nd prize, £ls, Spririg; two dogs, £6 each, Fly and Hamlet j four dogs, £3 each, Guy, Le Rouge, Handel, and Tricolor.
