Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places as under, subject to tho necessary alterations : WEDNESDAY, MAY 8. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. and 11 a.iu. For Kaikoura and Wellington, per Tui, at 3 p.m. late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p.m. tram. THURSDAY MAY 9. For Otago, overland, at 6 a.m. For Napier and Auckland, per Southern Cross, at 3 p.m.: late letters, 3.20 p.m.; railway station, 4 p in. train. For Northern Ports, per St. Kilna, at 11 a.m.; late letters, 11.20 a.m.; railway station, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Eingarooma. at 1.50 p.m; late letters, 2.10 p.m.; railway station, 2.40 p.m. train. SYDNEY J. DICK,’; Chief Postmaster.
