A DANGEROUS NUISANCE.

To the Editor of,the Globe, Sib, —Allow me, through your columns, to draw the attention of the Inspector of Nuisances to the abominable stench which is prevalent near the right-of-way leading from Cashel street to Collins’ Ilotel. From what results, I am not in a position to say, but one thing is certain, that the nuisance is of the vilest and most dangerous nature, and to persons whose vocation renders it necessary for them to pass the place in question, it is often requisite to give the locality a wide berth. No wonder the frequenters of St. Paul’s Church prefer to go a longer distance out of the way than inhale the noxious vapors which arise from this fever-spreading drain. Yours, &c., SANITABY. Christchurch, May 6th, 1878,
