was in llames, the girl being in tho centre of flames. She was dreadfully burnt, and was taken to tho Hospital, but died at four this morning. She exonerated anyone else from blame. She was quite sensible. Chaeleston, May 2. Two more shafts have been bottomed at the Croninville rush, near Totara, and splendid prospects obtained. There is great excitement among all the miners here, and a large extent of ground on “the fancy lines ”is pegged off. It is situate three and a half miles from Charleston, and about fifteen from Westport. As it will probably take six months ►to procure watc~, there is no inducement for poor miners to come. Gold is now found both north and south of tho prospectors Cronin and Donovan.
